Play with Heart hockey scholarship
The Eliza J. Norton Foundation (EJNF) is pleased to distribute $10,000 in scholarships to East Coast Wizard Hockey Program (ECW) players for the 2026-2027 season. $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to up to five ECW players for whom tuition is a hardship, and who embody Eliza's spirit of teamwork, fierce determination, and her love of hockey
Play it Forward Scholarship
EJNF has established a new scholarship fund, Play it Forward, in loving memory of our friend David Pearlman. Conceived from David's incredible generosity and desire to give all kids a chance to play and thrive, we aim to provide access to sports and other activities for kids in need. We will accept applications from individuals and families on a rolling basis throughout the year. Requests can be made in any amount up to $1,000 per child. EJNF will review and make decisions on award recipients twice per year - January 15th and August 15th to award $5,000 in annual scholarships. We will prioritize families for whom cost is a hardship, and who embody Eliza’s spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, kindness, and fierce determination. It comes as no surprise that nearly all of Eliza's favorite books have similar themes: being confident in yourself, standing up for others, overcoming differences, teamwork, and persistence. Check out Eliza's favorites and pick some up for your mighty kid or consider empowering more children by gifting your school, library, or anyone else in Eliza's honor. Act with Heart : kindness week
We celebrate Kindness Week in honor of Eliza's birthday on April 30th. Each year we invite you to perform acts of kindness in your community: Bring a teacher flowers, do yard work for a neighbor, surprise your team with homemade cookies.

Our Impact
Build with Heart
Build With Heart was our first capital improvement project which aimed to significantly improve a special part of Eliza's community: installing new dugouts, benches, and bat holders at the ballfields in Wayland, MA. We established gift levels that helped us reach our goals and these families and organizations will be a part of the EJNF family in perpetuity. Please visit our FAQ page for more information.
