"She believed she could, and so she did"
The Eliza Juliet Norton Foundation aims to continue Eliza's legacy by providing children with increased access to and enhanced experiences in athletics and beyond with a focus on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and community building.
Eliza was a fierce supporter of her friends, teammates, and classmates. We continue her mission to help children be confident individuals and to stand up for others. This goal is achieved through targeted programs and partnerships with school districts and national children's organizations.
Eliza was a bright, active girl with boundless energy, whose favorite place to be was on a rink, field, or monkey bars with her friends and teammates. Her foundation will work with communities to enable investment in spaces of play, including playgrounds, ball fields, and hockey rinks.
Eliza craved "the crunch of the ice" under her skates and was at her absolute happiest when playing ice hockey. Through this program, we are committed to promoting and expanding access to the game she loved for children and especially girls locally and nationwide.
The Eliza J. Norton Foundation is hosting a community celebration on Sunday, October 1 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Cochituate Ball Fields in Wayland. Bring the whole family - we would love to see your smiling faces as we celebrate the life of our small but mighty Eliza, and thank you for your generosity and support this past year. Eliza has inspired such incredible work and so many heart-filled moments this year, and we are just getting started!
This free event will be a fun-filled day with bouncy houses, face painting, hair braiding, music, snacks, activities, entertainment and so much more.
Please RSVP so we can plan to accomodate all our guests!

It comes as no surprise that nearly all of Eliza's favorite books have similar themes: being confident in yourself, standing up for others, overcoming differences, teamwork, and persistence. Check out Eliza's favorites and pick some up for your mighty kid or consider empowering more children by gifting your school, library, or anyone else in Eliza's honor. We will happily hand deliver or ship directly to whoever you choose! Please contact us at ElizaJNortonFoundation@gmail.com for more info!
We are thrilled to announce that the Town of Wayland Select Committee has unanimously voted in favor of allowing the EJN Foundation to move ahead with our dugout project for Cochituate Fields. With your continued support, we intend to raise enough funds to make a number of improvements, starting with the addition of new dugouts at the two ball fields. Work on these enhancement initiatives is ongoing, and we will continue to raise funds for future projects. We can't wait to share what else we have in store!
